There is another thread on here about bands you are just discovering. Rolling Stones anybody? Yes...Yes...I know, they've been around almost 50 years..everybody has grown up with them...but...if your younger, have you heard very early Stones. This is a track from their first album which IMO is a contender for best debut album ever.

Another top class Prog Rock band from the late 60's early 70's. Probably not as well known as some of the others, but their Jazz/Blues/Rock fusion....especially after the addition of Chris Farlowe as singer gave us some real "thinking man's music" Can't help but be a little bit smug about the plethora of quality bands and the variety of music available back then compared to the dearth of decent bands available today. Smug

In 1965 when I was no' but a lad....I had a huge crush on the beautiful Marianne Faithful. I remember her doing this song on a pop programme, sat on a stool in a micro dress showing a tiny triangle of white panties. Evil I even went out with a look alike for about two years....but....I could never forgive her for shagging Mick Jagger when I was available.Grr Several years later, I actually met her in a social setting and boy was I disappointed. She was a druggie and was out of her head and actually stunk like a pig.She had aged 10 years more than she should have doneSigh.....such is life Laugh

I first heard this song in the superb German war film "Das Boot" A whimsical little love song so evocative of the wartime period when it was very popular in both France and Germany. I've always liked it and being as I'm off to France tomorrow for a break from the trials and tribulations of watching Wednesday, I thought I'd share it.

A bientot!

The first time I heard this song, I thought it was a Beatles tribute band....but The Merry Go Round were a band in their own right and had a minor hit with this song on the west coast of America about 1967. I like it.
