If they're coming in by jumping onto, then over, fencing then nail some of that carpet tack rail (the stuff that holds your carpet against the skirting board) to the top.
Stops them everytime.
Also quite a handy deterent for stopping chancers thinking about coming onto your property by climbing the fence.

Sam. Tell me more about the cotton wool and tuna. Do they eat it then die or just get a poorly tummy and so keep away?

Ty

Many thanks. I'm thinking of getting one of the ultrasound thingies if I can't pellet the little bastards.

Think it's something to do with the cotton wool swelling up and killing them.

Must say, I've never tried it myself.

You can get some gel from B&Q that you put down where they are fouling...clean the shit up first obviously...it smells of lemon and cats don't like it so go elsewhere. What you need to understand is that they regard it as their patch...it's you that's the pain in the arse by shooing them away, so just make it as difficult and unpleasant for them as possible and they'll go and annoy someone else.Thumbsup

Yup, and it catches in their guts and they die of a toxic poisoning, a bit like some women get that toxic syndrome from tampax, just way way more severe in general. They also react really badly to asprin, disolve some in a saucer of milk and you will have a back yard full of dead cats by morning, along with a fox and hedgehogs if you have all of that around you,It's kinder to shoot em. Or as others have said use stuff like citrus fruit peel to keep them off, I don't think they like lavender either.
Google summat like how to keep cats out of my garden instead of big soapy tits!!.BigsmileThumbsup

I wanted to try the cotton wool approach, the wife won't let me.

So I made more enquiries about the air pistol and the kids won't let me.

I'm going to end up spending money on one of them ultra sonic sound thingies.

Hope the fucking thing gets run over though.

A neighbour of mine has got some sort of sensor arrangement - when it detects a cat or a fox in the garden it fires water at them. He swears by it but apparently it works best when they come in the same way each time

Give this man a medal

I'll bet the neighbours weren't wondering or caring where the little bastards were having a shit though.
