That sounds similar to a walk we did in october, on a day that started with a spectacular cloud inversion: fluffy white clouds filling the valley of the Ladybower Reservoir and creeping up towards the edges high above, before dissipating as the sun warmed the ground.

We went up from Ashopton, over Whinstone Lee Tor and north until we took the path east, down past Moscar House to the A57. Then onto the end of Stanage Edge and along that until we scrambled down off it and made for the marshy saddle between it and Bamford Edge. We then traversed the latter northwards until we dropped down off it, down a classic mossy old footpath through the woods to the carpark above the dam. Fantastic views! Here's a few of my pics from then.

We wear boots, Andrea. It protects your ankles from sharp rocks, not to mention boggy bits. I don't know if Epworth does.

Ian, no. The first two are at Whinstone Lee Tor, at the southern end of the Derwent edges. The third and fourth are on the way up towards Dovestone Tor, looking respectively towards Win Hill and Crook Hill. The next three feature Stanage Edge and the last three are on or below Bamford Edge, with Jamie 'finding' the path down through the woods.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

In view of the weather Pinch we restricted our Monday Walk today to a wander around Damflask, followed by an early retirement to The Plough at Low Bradfield.

Four hours later, I still haven't thawed out! Cry

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

Hey Fred and Atroi, we can do the round circuit at Ringinglow on Sunday 15th March, starting and finishing at the Norfolk Arms. Its a short 3 miler as Atroi will have her youngster with her, but we can finish with a fine pint of local brew and a hot pork scuffler at the Norfolk.

If anyone would like to join us, watch this space.

If I remember correctly, last yearīs end of March was quite warm and sunny...well at least overhere. So, fingers crossed for some fine walking weather.....we are looking forward to it.
