This, didn't do it often enough though for us though

as opposed to Maguire. Nuhiu, Madine, Maghoma.....?
Its just that the lad was more talented, hence everyone expected more from him. Just like they did from JJ.
Both very talented but wildly inconsistent players.
JJ played in such a shi* team for several years, it was easy for the opposition to target and nullify him. Antonio was similarly marked

As Walkley says. What I meant was that he has the ability to put in perfect crosses but it's not seen often enough.

What have those players you mention got to do with anything Plops? They are ours, Antonio isn't anymore more, can we move on?

TBF he put in the occasional good cross for us and he put in one for them yesterday. He's about on par.
owl in exile, 31/08/2014 at 10:25

from watching the football league show this season he's already put about as many good crosses in for Forest than he did the whole of last season for us.

Who's that passing out of defence? Is it Van Aken, Joost Van Aken?

He did ok, but at times we proved him to be what we already knew.

As Walks said about having Palmer stand off him. Yes, the tackle was a last ditch effort to halt him in the second half as it was the only real time I thought he had got the better of LIam, aside from the push for the goal. Antonio is all about pace and strength. If he can knock the ball past his man and run or act on instinct rather than with a measured ball he's fine. BUT Give him time to think about it and he generally puts in a below average cross or runs the ball into a dead end.
Gray didn't say he was a younger version of JJ for nothing.

There was a nudge but I didn't think it warranted a foul. Palmer perhaps showed his inexperience at right back by getting caught the wrong side of Antonio in the first place.

Palmers tackle was superb. Absolutely mullered the lazy Mardy c**t.

I only have the original viewing to go from, I haven't seen any replays of it etc. At the time it looked like a push and I know Westwood certainly thought it was as he was appealing.
Fair enough if I'm wrong.

It was a foul, a two handed push IMO

Antonio was conning us last season IMO, pretty obvious he didn't want to be here.

He was played out of position too many times for us.
I'd say he got the better of Palmer, his cross led to the 1 goal in the match

Antonio is just a runner ...if he had a end product he would be a major star in premier league, but he hasn't. ......

I thought Palmer played him well yesterday but he was obviously worried about facing him as he knew he'd do him for speed (which won't happen often in this league)...

Their Goal - When Palmer got Antonio's hands in his back he should of thrown himself to floor screaming...then we would of got a free kick ( As every team did in world cup) ...he's still learning though & he won't face many better wingers than Antonio in this league

Let's be right, Antonio is a top class player...the performance he put in against Reading last season was as good as any I've seen at Hillsborough in years. Some of his subsequent performances however, were down with the Bothroyd/Jeffers couldn't give a fuck about this club attitude. So let's stop being nice to him. He's stolen a living from us for the past season and will probably do the same to Forest when something happens that changes his opinion of his new employers.
