Went to Wick at both Ends on Sat night, reight cock up, the imbecile that organised the do never thought to check whether they had to book and thought that 12 people turning up on a Sat night, when Sheffield is chocka with thousands of students, wouldn't be a problem!

So spent Sat night getting bladdered in Fagans then the Fat Cat instead, nobody wanted a nose bag after the boozer either, so I was swaying a bit, woke up Sunday morning with the mother of all hangovers!

Grr

Never trust a woman to organise ANYTHING!!!!

We ate out on Monday at The Inn at Troway. It used to be The Blackamoor Inn but I suppose that became offensive, despite it being a venerable name. That features in the Michelin Guide, although it isn't 'starred'. Very pleasant food and a stunning view out over the Moss Valley.

Forgot to mention: It has Thornbridge Brewery ales on and every bar has McKee prints on the walls. Salute

No...I've never seen or heard of one. The bulk of wine sold in the UK now has a screw top with just the French, Italians and Spanish still using corks though not exclusively.

That looks like a wine saver....the type of bottle sealer that you would use if you don't want to finish it and save some for tomorrow.

Never had any need for one myself.Thumbsup

Went to the Mamma Mia Pepe Italian restaurant on Langsett Road last night. We both had steaks...me a Steak Caledonian in a Whisky sauce and her a plain grilled steak....and they were bloody good. This little local restaurant hasn't changed it's decor since Bob Bolder kept goal for us and looks a bit down at heel when you go in...but ignore that, the food is terrific and good value. With a litre of passable house Merlot at Ģ12.90 you can't go wrong. It's near the Primrose View tram stop so you can even get there without the car as well. Only thing was the waitress needs to work on her Italian accent a bit. Ayup luv!

Sounds like the Italians need to work on the menu, too. Blink
