That's just crushed me. My favourite ever musician. 'Great' doesn't even begin to cover it.

What about this: I'm off out to a Kenny Wayne Shepherd gig in half an hour and am rushing to get ready. I've just laid out a Jack Bruce portrait tee shirt on the bed, without knowing about his death.

I feel like half of me's gone with him.

RIP Jack: my musical idol.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

Wherever great musicians go when they die, I've a feeling these two will be meeting up for a few jam sessions.

From his glorious 1971 album, 'Harmony row'. From the days when he was on top of the world; owned a Scottish island and the BBC made a documentary about him. Before certain substances changed all that.

Chris Spedding: guitars. John Marshall: percussion. Jack Bruce: everything else. Song: Bruce / Brown, (as always.)

The band work over the Wolf's standard. Jack on lead bass and blueswailing. What a start!

Allways preferred Mountains version of " Theme from an imaginary western " but now gives me an excuse to dig out my old Cream records and annoy the neighbours
