UB 40 last night at Sunny Scunny, first time I had seen the Baths Hall with all seats removed on floor level.

They still get everyone skanking along to the tunes!!

All of them have aged better than Ali Campbell

heard the were touring again, didn't Ali Campbell leave the band for a bit, or was that his brother?

Not my cup of tea but I used to work with a bloke who loved them and was a huge reggae fan as well, he went to watch them in a charity gig at Villa Park in the early 80's, slept on a park bench that night, as he was too pissed to go anywhere else and had his shoes nicked, hitched back to Barnsley with a massive hangover and bare feet! Bigsmile

she said, 'I know you boy you cannot sing', I said, 'that's nothing, you should hear me play piano'

Ali left a while ago, I saw them in the Hallam Arena last year and they had his brother Duncan singing, who has been the lead singer since 2008 I think.

Ali is reforming with 2 other ex members, Astro and Micky Virtue.

Saw them back in 1980 supporting The Pretenders at the Top Rank. The Pretenders were at the height of their fame...Brass In Pocket had just topped the charts, Talk of the Town was top 10, but UB40 absolutely blew them away. Their first single King had just been released and they basically played all of their first album and a few covers - they had the place absolutely rocking. The Pretenders, even though they weren't bad on the night, couldn't compete and were very aware their set didn't get remotely the same audience response - they must have really regretted booking them and being made to look very average.

I ask you will Galway bate Mayo? Not if they have Willie Joe...they haven't a hope of beating Mayo!
