Has anyone else other than me seen it? Mate of mine bought me a ticket and I saw it at midnight on Wednesday/Thursday.

I aint giving nothing away about the film plot, but I loved it.

Very impressed. If it has a weakness, it's that it's a little too familiar, but I really enjoyed it.

Surprised you're on a thread with this title before you've seen it. I kept well way from em, too many chances of spoilers.

The prequels have been blown out of the water with this film

I'm trusting folks to not let anything slip. But honestly I'm not bothered by spoilers. It will be a while before I see it anyway.

P.S. Bruce Willis' character was Die Hard.

P.P.S. John Wayne's character shot Liberty Valance.

Great fun but basically remade episode 1.

P.S. Bruce Willis is dead that's why the little kid can see him

If a fella was to watch episodes i ii iii iv v & vi should you watch them in numerical order or the order they were made.

I liked the first 3 (made). Watched i and thought 'a bit meh' watched half of ii and got interrupted and never bother finishing it because it was very 'meh'. The two new ones (well one and a half) I watched have made me lose all interest in it. Have had no urge to watch iii or this new one.

Some right hardmen on here, I'm fucking terrified.

You can ignore the prequels if you want, TFA is a sequel to Return of the Jedi. I think Disney are pretending they don't exist, which is probably for the best.

3's the worst one. I didn't mind episode 1 tbh, though I can sort of see why people hate it. 2 was definitely shit. The new one is essentially Episode 4 again and I still can't work out whether that's a good or a bad thing.

Who's that passing out of defence? Is it Van Aken, Joost Van Aken?

I'd just ignore episode III if I was you, or if you want the completeness of having seen them all, get rat-arsed before you watch it and then you wain't care.

As for order, either way works but if you watch 'em in numerical order then you can get the dross out of the way early doors and move on to the higher quality stuff, whereas watching them in the order they were made means a steady decline and you'll eventually lose the will to live.

Who's that passing out of defence? Is it Van Aken, Joost Van Aken?

Watch IV and V. Then watch I, II and III because completionism is important, but you need the goodness of IV and excellence of V to get through those pieces of fucking shit. Then you've got VI left to make it all better again.

Best thing about VII is that it's tipped the balance - there are now more good Star Wars movies that gash Star Wars movies.

P.S. ThinkVII may be my second favourite of all of them.

P.P.S. It was earth all along. Damn dirty apes.

Is it fuck. On reflection, I think I is the best of the prequels, which is a sad fucking indictment of the others.

The problem with 1 is that it was so obviously tied in with the computer gaming side of marketing
2 was shite apart from yoda with the light sabre and 3 well it dragged on too long

Not seen 7
Yet

Go to Bramall Lane??? I'd rather shit in my hands and clap

My memory of III was that is was far closer to being a good Star Wars movie than the other prequels. On my rewatch before the release of VII, I was horrified to discover it's the absolute worst of the films. So many CGI fight scenes. That awful Sideous vs Yoda thing. It made me so angry.

Only ever watched Star Wars the original film, back in '77, at the ABC (I Think) mum took me, she fell asleep during it and I nearly nodded off, considering I was 10 and should have been in awe and excitement, tells its own story, I have not watched it or any of the others since, never felt the need to, so cannot understand the mania, but will take the lad to see it at some point, or possibly buy the DVD, or maybe not.

...would you like to see the pope on the end of a rope...
