Orlando is what it is, but then I don't go there for fine dining, although I have eaten in upmarket places there and it's been excellent. Mostly though when I'm there I'm quite happy with steak, pancakes and the rest. It's America, it's what I expect.
I've also recently been to Spain, and lived on tapas and olives. Hardly fine dining, just eating like the locals same as in the US.
The last place I would pick for a holiday meal would be an ex-pat bar serving "Full English All Day with real beans".
That's a negative ... and right now I need two positives: one to cancel out the negative ... and one just so I've got a positive
I have eaten all over the world in all different classes of eateries, from street food in Thailand and Vietnam, to very expensive "European style" restaurants in the same countries. I have had Dim Sum in Michelin star restaurants in Hong Kong and had the finest Steaks in downtown Houston. I can say with years of experience that American food is turd in comparison with anything of the same level anywhere in the world.
