Some well deserved tributes in this.

I'm not a muppet so I'm not getting sucked into this 'Blades' crap: she's not interested in football.

She's never been anything but a truly great athlete and ambassador for our country and city.  

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

Agree Owling, she has been a shining example to young people. Both on and off the track.

I hope she manages to stay involved in sport, maybe as some sort of mentor.

Great ambassador for the City. Never really been a fan of athletics but always made a point to watch her, she was very good but right for her to now retire. The Belgian that got the gold this year had 8 yrs on her and Jess wasn't that far behind. She still looked chuffed with Silver probably because her real gold was sleeping at home.
