Seems as if someone has lied to Sheffield Council about what cladding has been used, not that agreed upon and less fire resistant. Having said that it doesn't seem to have been double checked by the council.

As a self-proclaimed political agnostic, I presume you hold the same view on the non- Labour councils where a similar situation may have occurred... like the Tory- controlled Kensington council for instance?

I ask you will Galway bate Mayo? Not if they have Willie Joe...they haven't a hope of beating Mayo!

There has been a mad rush over the past few years for governments and councils to display their green credentials for political reasons. Insulating homes was one of the ways they chose. But typically, they nipcheesed on the quality and safety once the political message had been sent.
The law of unintended consequences strikes again.

Interesting one CDLF as I do quite a bit of work related to the Insulation industry and have heard lots about ECO - energy company obligations and CERT - carbon emission reduction targets over the years. So most of this relates to EU targets that should be met.

Going back 3 or 4 years one of the main things done was retro fit cavity wall insulation. This itself has not been immune from serious problems. More recently there has been a move to solid wall solutions especially for older Council properties where there isn't a cavity. Tbf the advocates of this is to promote social benefit. A lot of these households suffer from fuel poverty and that poorly heated homes can contribute to ill health or recurring ill health so there can be positive benefits on the NHS budget.

The guys I know are genuine in this albeit there is a business motive to it. But one has done all street solutions with local authorities - not sure on how the products he uses compare. Actually for the specific client I deal with, a Guarantee Agency that does cover high rise all this is going to be highly relevant when I do the audit in the near future.

Happy clapping for 4 years more than Emre

All energy companies have agreed to wipe any fuel debt any residents may have had and cover any fuel cost incured on their tempory accomodation.

The wife's school has failed inspection, refurbed three years ago, so all chemistry practicals have been suspended and the place will become a building site in the holidays.

Hopefully the inquiry will have more success than the child abuse inquiry has had with judges.

Guy appointed seems to have a good background in terms.of technical law, so here's hoping.
