Welcome to the eleventh season of Who got us the points.

The rules for Who got us the points are;

In a draw. The player who scores the goal that secures a draw (our first in a 1-1 draw, our second in a 2-2 draw etc) is determined as having earnt us that point; or the defence in the case of a 0-0 draw. The defence's point is shared amongst the keeper and the back four (0.2 points each). In the event of a defensive substitution if the substituted player has completed 70 minutes he'll still get the full 0.2 and the defender who replaces him won't get anything. Anything less than 70 minutes and he'll get 0.1 as will his replacement.
For any games where we employ a back five, the keeper and the three centre halfs will be credited with 0.2, the wing backs with 0.1.

In a win. The player who scores the goal that made sure we got a draw (our first in a 2-1 or 3-1 win, our second in a 3-2 or 4-2 win) gets one point or the defence in the case of a to nil win, and the player who scores the winner (the second in a 2-1 or a 3-1 win etc) gets two points (as he turned a draw into a win).

The Meaningful goals table will follow similar rules but the score at the time of the goal will be the key factor, so a goal that gives us a lead will earn the player two points, regardless of the final result, whilst a goal that puts us level will get a point. A goal that gives us a two goal cushion will get half a point, as will a goal that reduces the deficit to a single goal. Goals that put us three (or more) goals to the good will be considered as just the icing on the cake and won't be rewarded, similarly goals that bring us to within two (or more) goals of the opposition will be considered as mere consolations and hence also not credited. For this table cup goals will count.

Our opening game win at Reading saw Harris get us our first point and Hutchinson turn it into three.

In Meaningful Goals, Harris and Hutchinson both get two points as both of their goals gave us the lead. Joao gets half a point for putting us two goals ahead.

Our first point v Barnsley was due to the clean sheet so it's 0.2 each for Dawson, Odubajo, Palmer, Borner and Lees.
Murphy's early goal then added the other two points.

In Meaningful Goals Murphy gets two, and Fletcher half a point as he put us two to the good.

Today's win v Charlton was all down to Fletcher in terms of this table as his first goal secured the draw and his penalty turned it into a win.

It means he's been responsible for five points in total, and moves him to the top of the table. He's also top of Meaningful Goals - his tally there of 10 shows just how many winning/drawing positions we've chucked away (usually when he's been on the scoresheet).

Fletcher's opener at Derby ended up getting us just the one point thanks to us throwing away a game we should have won at a canter.
As his goal gave us the lead it gets him two points in Meaningful Goals.

It was the turn of someone other than Fletcher to get us some points.
The back five's clean sheet was responsible for our first point at Forest. Jordan Rhodes' first of his trio added the other two.

In Meaningful Goals, Rhodes gets two for his first strike, half a point for his second. His third, and Fletcher's don't get anything.

It was the turn of someone other than Fletcher to get us some points.
For the second game running it was a clean sheet that gained us our first point. Dawson, Palmer, Iorfa and Lees all get 0.2, with the substituted Fox and his replacement Borner get 0.1 each. Bannan's penalty gave us a 1-0 win over Bristol City and therefore he gets two points.

His strike also gets him two points in Meaningful Goals.

The injury time collapse at Stoke means that there are no points to be added to the main table.
In Meaningful Goals, Fox gets one point as his goal brought us level, whilst Lees' gets him two as it gave us the lead.
I notice that I had managed to not credit Fox's two points for giving us the lead v Swansea earlier in the season.

It's so nice to adding three points onto the main table again - even more so with them coming at Elland Road.

The first point is thanks to the defence, and so sees young Urhoghide be the latest player to enter the table. As it was 85 minutes before he was substituted he gets full credit and gets 0.2 along with Dawson, Fox, Iorfa and Borner. Murphy's strike was the winner, and with two points for that he goes joint second.

In Meaningful Goals, Murphy also gets two points with Nuhiu getting half a point for putting us two points clear.
