Could a reason for this be a difficulty in moving operating money from Thailand to the UK currently, at a time when for obvious reasons the cashflow will all be one way - or even more one way than usual - to support the club? To give Mr. C. a readilly accessible pool of funds here.
I'm fairly sure I read the suggestion of such a money transfer difficulty during both the incidences of late player wage payments.

10,000 season ticket holders needing on average £690 back covering some of last season (10,000 x £120) and some of the current season based on 55% full refund request ... number could stack up multiple ways I guess
