Then they shouldn't be allowed to sign new players.
Skamp, 05/08/2020 at 18:54

That would be like telling a Hotelier they can't employ a new bar manager or head chef if they sack two or three cleaners Blink

I suspect most decent Arsenal fans will feel anger at the club about this.

Just won the cup, qualify for the Europa League, pay players £350k a week to keep the bench warm but get rid of Doris the cleaner and Bill in the ticket office.

Collateral damage my arse

The bloke is on £350,000 a week.

Their owner is a billionaire & owns different clubs in different sports in the USA...

But they can't afford to pay 55 employees who are on probaly on £30,000 a year.

I hope the c**ts go bust

Would there be a particular reason for the timing of your enquiry, Sir? Smile

The football industry has obviously been affected by Covid-19. Differing circumstances can mean certain people aren't really required any longer and an overhaul of the business model is required.

The playing squad side of things is the single most important sector within a football club. Like it or not, success on the pitch raises screeds more revenue than winning an award for the best cup of coffee in the Premier League.

I would be amazed if every single club throughout the country wasn't sacking people. It's simply about who wishes to announce it first and take the flak. Then, when others make similar announcements in the coming weeks, they'll undoubtedly get slated for 'jumping on the bandwagon' and 'using Covid as an excuse'.

It's not Arsenal's fault matches are being played behind closed doors. It's not Arsenal's fault punters are too scared to go outside and visit the club shop and it's not Arsenal's fault that the same punters can't afford to purchase a new strip because they've also been affected and are encountering a lack of funds in their pocket.

This is simply the tip of the iceberg...

Well said Sir Salute

Football's no different to any other industry, I work for a large multi-national that's simultaneously recruiting and making people redundant, those being made redundant could have the jobs that are being recruited for, but they either don't want them or don't have the skills for them, much the same as a football club. I'm sure Arteta would have no issue playing Maureen from the club shop up top if she could match Aubemayang's movement and goal scoring
