If they void the season there won't be any parachute payments.
CDLF, 19/03/2020 at 12:15

The pot of cash they’d give to the 3 that would go up then.

If they void the season there will be no promotion or relegation, so there would be a saving to the PL of parachute payments. There's more chance of Jeremy Corbyn laying flowers on Margaret Thatchers grave than them giving that up to the lower leagues.

I ask you will Galway bate Mayo? Not if they have Willie Joe...they haven't a hope of beating Mayo!

They just can’t bring themselves to accepting the inevitable: season over. One way or another.

If last season is void, wouldn’t the teams relegated last season (18-19) just get year 1 parachute payments again, those relegated 17-18 year 2 payments etc. ?

We are about to witness curfews and militia on the streets to enforce this. Looting will be rife, as will knife crime, and folk will get shot for hiding a loo roll inside a loaf of bread.

Accept it. Football is the least of our priorities right now.

Live long and prosper, or summat.

If it can’t be completed it should be deemed void with no promotions & relegation. How can you award stuff without all the games being played, some teams have played more games than others for example.

Watching the Liverpool and Leeds fans in melt down is also an added bonus!

If we do resume when realistically will the season end thus having a knock on effect.

Season 20/21 would need to finish on time for Euros. Say new season started October then how about splitting each division in 2 based on previous placings.

Becomes a mini season of 22 games for example in Championship. Top and bottom of each get promoted and relegated and second and third in each go into Play Offs. Both 11th places have play off to settle third relegation spot.

Each Division including Prem can be similar with Top in each in Prem playing off for title.
.
These games plus League and FA Cup would fit nicely.

Sorry, saved me thinking about CV

So far sounds like the clubs want to finish the season. I suspect the longer this wears on the less they will want to, but as with all of this situation - who knows!

No chance.

12 weeks is the timetable on turning this around, that's end of June nearly, how the fuck is owt other than voiding logistically workable.

Work out the average points per game for the games played so far and apply it to the remaining games seems the only sensible option to me. Play the outstanding European and domestic cup games in pre-season, then next season could possibly carry on as close to normal as possible. Sadly it means Liverpool winning the PL, but it will always be tainted as being won by default

Try and play enough games so Liverpool win the title by the sounds of it.

That is kind of stupid as all it would do is leave the tables exactly as they are now and then you would get complaints from teams who are in the relegation zone.

If the season is void next season will be delayed by 6-12 months because it's more about finance than actual achievements

Rumour that if the suspension of the season continues for several more months Sky might demand return of some of the money the clubs have been paid..

Fuck 'em. This city will always be ours.

To be honest, I don’t see next season being completed let alone this season.

Maybe a few friendlies, but a full league, of teams that haven’t gone bust, won’t start this side of Christmas.

I just had an advert at the top of the page: Get your horoscope for 2020. Think that should be re-spelled 'Horrorscope'! Think I'd sooner pay not to know what this year will bring.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.
