I'm told there's a NEW, supporters trust coming which has been set up over the last couple of months.

I've been asked if we mind them coming on here, posting links to surveys, asking questions, asking for input etc etc.

So look out for them at somepoint soon in here, and please try to be accommodating.

There was a thread on here previously about this but I thought the trust thing had died when the pubs had closed before they could have their open meeting to see if it was a viable proposal.

Some of the stuff they were talking about wouldn't be given the time of day by DC and a lot on here thought it might get hijacked by the Shorts and Grandads of this world when it came to voting for places on the trusts board.

Theyve sent a survey today - ticket prices & corporate governance. Will ellicit exactly the type of response they wast and as they saddled up with WendyShyte, they can do one, unless theyre happy to pay £35-45pm for the privilige of posting on here

Bollocks to em, and before all this “you’ve got to give em a chance...”, that last lot are proof that you give some ‘fans’ power, they become self-serving, drunk on power c**ts, quite rightly treated with suspicion.

Let em on here though, but OO has always been able to sniff out ego-driven ‘super fans’ and will treat em as such.

Would also like to know if it's a self appointed board or they've had elections.

As I posted on the other thread, Trusts can work if they know their place and what they can contribute. Holding referendums and forums over ticket prices when they don't know the club financials is not the right way to start.

That was the statement on the 22 March that they were working together with Wednesdayite.

Which would totally put a lot of people off

Hello,

Thanks to Hoyland Owl for the introduction and allowing us to register on this site. As you will be able to see, we've just started a separate topic with the first in our series of fans' surveys – we would really appreciate your responses.

Just to address a few things mentioned in this thread:

A list of who is currently involved can be found on our website along with a detailed list of FAQs, notes from previous meetings and a recording of the initial open meeting which was live-streamed. The interim board are working to establish the Trust and guide it to the first elections at an AGM – which will probably be in 6-12 months. In the meantime the interim board are answerable to the members, once recruitment begins – which will be in the not-too-distant future.

We are now officially affiliated to the Football Supporters' Association (FSA), something the club previously lacked, and are governed by their rules – which includes being registered with the Financial Conduct Authority.

In terms of associations with Wednesdayite, we are categorically a different group to them, not least because of that connection with the FSA. When we first announced our launch, there was some disquiet from those running Wednesdayite about the need for a Supporters' Trust affiliated with the FSA. The Trust's interim board decided that having different fans' groups sniping at each other helped no one, so we had a productive conversation with Wednesdayite and, essentially, agreed that we would leave each other alone to get on with our own goals in our own way. We also agreed that there may be scope for working together on certain community projects – one idea floated was a food bank collection – but the conversation went no further than that. Ultimately, any decision would be down to our membership, so if you don't want us to do something, sign up (when you can) and tell us that.

We appreciate that Sheffield Wednesday have a rocky history with fans' groups and that may have affected a willingness to trust the motivations of the new Trust. We are open to criticism and want to listen to views of all fans. All we ask is that you judge us by our words and actions over the coming months and (hopefully) years.

The reasons for launching the survey are explained in the other thread. It's had a great, varied response so far and we really would love to hear your views.

Just asked a question in the survey thread, which has been answered on this one.

It’s a no from me, involving that lot was a bad move and will arouse suspicion in the vast majority of the fan base, you’ve shot yourselves in the foot there, big time.

Are the survey results going to be publish or just an edited summary, or nothing?
