Probably understated what he's done, while others um n arrgh he didn't, bloke is truly professional and will be missed.

Never sought plaudits or moaned when not played, 8 years service punctuated by injury mismanagement again.

I'd risk another season regardless, he won't cost loads or kick up a fuss but if not I'm gutted he won't get a decent send off.

He will likely be in L1, Ipswich are already gutted

Consummate professional. If we'd had a few more with his attitude we'd be in the PL now.

Proper footballer, glides across the pitch, gets in fantastic positions and some of his goals have been some of the more memorable ones in our recent history too.

From a lad who looked lightweight at right back, to one of the first names on the teamsheet in central midfield.

Give him another year.

13.11.2010 at 20.51 emre...tbh, Hoylands goal gave me a semi

Definitely deserves another year but has struggled thanks to being brought back too early after his injury problems. Says a lot for the guy if he's been with us 8 years.

For me. Depends on the level we are at. I have always said that if he was 6 foot tall, he’d be playing for England. Injuries have taken their toll and he hasn’t got the foot speed to get a yard now, whether we like it or not, he’s been pretty brutally exposed by the athleticism of some midfields we have faced this season. But, if we ended up going down, I’d keep him, cool head under pressure.

I'd give him a year IF he's fit enough to reasonably be expected to play regularly throughout it. No guarantees but no obvious reason presently why he'd be a major risk, just as if he was a new signing.
Sounds a bit rough on him, I suppose, but we're likely to have a pared down squad and not much to spend, if we're allowed to, so every man will have to count.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

As said above some memorable goals, wonderful feet and a fantastic attitude.

Was absolutely brilliant at his peak but he isn't fit enough now, he's a shadow of himself even if he is fit enough to play, sentiment shouldn't get him a contract and he isn't good enough or worth the risk on his fitness imo.

Just my thoughts

We will p*ss it

For what he'll cost for another year it really is a no brainer even if he's just used as back up/sub. KL running on 3 cylinders has to be better than some of the others we have on the books at the moment.

Despite the difference in ages I would play Lee in the squad in preference to Pelupessey

Fuck 'em. This city will always be ours.

The only midfielder we've had in recent years who actually get forward beyond the strikers and score.

Always seem to score winners or game changers as well.

Will be missed when he goes.

I suppose it's what's best for him.

He's 31 and I'd suggest if he was offered another year it would be on reduced terms and possible performance related.
If he was to knowingly sign for us as a cover player that would be a season out of regular football which would make it harder to find a club in a season's time.

He could go to a league 1 club and probably get a two year deal (or a year with an extension option), which would offer more security and he'd be playing more than just odd games for us and possibly get another club down the line off the back of it.

Yes, I'd thought that, and wouldn't criticise him for taking it if offered to him. It would seriously rankle if we then found ourselves in League One ourselves!

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.
