Probably understated what he's done, while others um n arrgh he didn't, bloke is truly professional and will be missed.

Never sought plaudits or moaned when not played, 8 years service punctuated by injury mismanagement again.

I'd risk another season regardless, he won't cost loads or kick up a fuss but if not I'm gutted he won't get a decent send off.

He will likely be in L1, Ipswich are already gutted

Consummate professional. If we'd had a few more with his attitude we'd be in the PL now.

Proper footballer, glides across the pitch, gets in fantastic positions and some of his goals have been some of the more memorable ones in our recent history too.

From a lad who looked lightweight at right back, to one of the first names on the teamsheet in central midfield.

Give him another year.

Definitely deserves another year but has struggled thanks to being brought back too early after his injury problems. Says a lot for the guy if he's been with us 8 years.

For me. Depends on the level we are at. I have always said that if he was 6 foot tall, he’d be playing for England. Injuries have taken their toll and he hasn’t got the foot speed to get a yard now, whether we like it or not, he’s been pretty brutally exposed by the athleticism of some midfields we have faced this season. But, if we ended up going down, I’d keep him, cool head under pressure.

I'd give him a year IF he's fit enough to reasonably be expected to play regularly throughout it. No guarantees but no obvious reason presently why he'd be a major risk, just as if he was a new signing.
Sounds a bit rough on him, I suppose, but we're likely to have a pared down squad and not much to spend, if we're allowed to, so every man will have to count.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

As said above some memorable goals, wonderful feet and a fantastic attitude.

Was absolutely brilliant at his peak but he isn't fit enough now, he's a shadow of himself even if he is fit enough to play, sentiment shouldn't get him a contract and he isn't good enough or worth the risk on his fitness imo.

Just my thoughts

We will p*ss it

For what he'll cost for another year it really is a no brainer even if he's just used as back up/sub. KL running on 3 cylinders has to be better than some of the others we have on the books at the moment.

The only midfielder we've had in recent years who actually get forward beyond the strikers and score.

Always seem to score winners or game changers as well.

Will be missed when he goes.

I suppose it's what's best for him.

He's 31 and I'd suggest if he was offered another year it would be on reduced terms and possible performance related.
If he was to knowingly sign for us as a cover player that would be a season out of regular football which would make it harder to find a club in a season's time.

He could go to a league 1 club and probably get a two year deal (or a year with an extension option), which would offer more security and he'd be playing more than just odd games for us and possibly get another club down the line off the back of it.

Yes, I'd thought that, and wouldn't criticise him for taking it if offered to him. It would seriously rankle if we then found ourselves in League One ourselves!

MOTM for me, does what looks to be the simple things to great effect, got a great attitude will run til he drops, or alternatively we can stick Joey in there. Thought him, Bannan and Luongo looked very good together although Luongo seemed to fade away second half.

ProfessorPlum, 20/06/2020 at 18:38

I wouldn't give MotM to anyone, that's now nondescript the game was.

Today's not the day to be deciding as to whether to offer longer deals to players. Nobody earned that accolade from those 90 minutes. It's also the reason why I won't be critical of Lee for giving away a few unnecessary fouls and missing a sitter at 0-0. He did run around a lot though so hat's off to him for that.

I think the idea is someone, no matter how good or bad you've played, gets to be MOTM, and for me it was KL. But, if you'd rather not pick one that's fair enough as well.
I also don't think the game was that bad either. As for deciding who gets longer deals? Well, that was my opinion, just like you I suspect, I don't make the decisions.

What do we reckon - potentially his last game in a Wednesday shirt tonight (if fit)

Great servant but I am afraid if we want to move on then so must Kieran. We can't be held back by the past and what they have achieved, we need to look at what they can offer in the future.

Unfortunately I don't think that can involve players that are injury prone and do not recover from injuries quickly either.

Happy clapping for 4 years more than Emre

Its an interesting one, when he plays he adds so much IMO. His ability to almost ghost around the pitch is crazy, he gets where water can't at times.

His fitness though clearly is an issue, but... I'd keep him for another year. We're in transition now, bigtime, there's bound to be an overhaul of things and Kieran hasn't ever appeared to be anything but a positive influence. There's no rumours of conflict, no fallout with managers, the other players respect him, he just goes about his business with minimal fuss.

He knows the club, he knows what we as fans expect and IMO he rarely disappoints.

I would keep him for two reasons. Firstly, I believe he could be value for money with his experience in a squad system.
Secondly, if he is interested in pursuing a coaching / management career then encourage him to learn with us. There is a lot of mixed conversation about our ex players who are now managers having a go at SWFC. What would be interesting to me is if we cannot attract a manager with a good track record to join our club ,then players who have a recent affinity with the club and want to embark on a coaching career then encourage them to come to us. Jose Semedo springs to mind and Lee if he wants to tread that path, would be better choices than serial failures like Jos and Monk. I know Bullen is one such example but I never valued his coaching nor his football skills.

Fuck 'em. This city will always be ours.

I would give him another year, he'd be great to have around the changing room in order to mentor the younger lads. A great role model who will still get 20+ games a season if managed correctly.

Will we give him another deal? I very much doubt it. I see the removing of the old guard meaning there's no room for sentiment no matter how good of a player he once was/can be on his day.

All the best KL. You left us with some superb memories over the years.

I'd give him a contract just on the basis he committed to our club when we needed him, unlike some others....

A model professional who has been a joy to watch over the years in the blue & white.

As has been said, we are in the middle of a huge transition at the club & having a player like K.Lee & his experience will be of massive benefit to the club, players like Shaw & Hunt will/can learn alot from Lee.
