Looks like it could well be happening.

Thoughts?

I don't like it.

They said the world would end when we went to 2 subs an it didn't

As long as they keep the limits on permitted number of sub breaks

Yes it will help those with big squads but I think at our level it will give the opportunity to blood young kids. Most youngsters are growing up with rolling substitutes these days

Drinks break is an interesting one - it helped us last night for sure but disrupts the flow too much

Happy clapping for 4 years more than Emre

I don't think the drinks break will continue, aside from in the World Cup in Qatar for example.

I hope it doesn't, it almost makes the game into 4 quarters.

Three subs and one emergency sub in case of a head injury or similar if all three subs have been used would make more sense.

That would take some 'policing" though. Feign injury get subbed, real head injury but told to play on with 10 men.

Didn't some rugger team get done for faking a blood injury a few years back?

Charlie Nicholas was watching our game last night and made an interesting observation.
He couldn't understand why we made the substitution two minutes after the drinks break. Said it broke the rhythm up again and why not make them during the break so everyone knows and goes back out together.

perhaps Charlie is unaware how critically inept Monk is?

Tee mentioned playing as 4 quarters, given how we get worse after his half time talks, imagine how bad we'll be in quarters 3 & 4.

It'll favour the high tempo high pressing teams as they'll be able to keep that up all game. It'll be like rugby union. Run yourself into the ground for 65-70 minutes then get subbed.

You could also say it favours the plan B teams. If your original set up isn't working or you've seen something you can exploit then you've two 'free' goes to change it.

At present we're not in either camp

I fucking well hope not Grr

Is there still a rule which allows drinks breaks when it's a certain temperature? Not even sure if it's ever officially existed in English football.

They'll not need to advertise for an announcer: you're a shoo in! Great! It'll save time when the rubber hits the road!!
Thumbsup

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.
