https://www.swfc.co.uk/news/2020/july/vot e-for-your-swfc.co.uk-player-of-the-year/

The 2019/20 campaign finally reached its conclusion on Wednesday evening.

The season will go down in history as one of the strangest on record, starting in August 2019 and finishing in July 2020 behind closed doors, due to the ongoing pandemic.

For the Owls, it was a season of frustration, perfectly encapsulated by the finale in midweek which saw Wednesday create chances, not take them and be punished for momentary lapses at the other end.

Manager Garry Monk has spoken of the transition that now lies ahead and the need for that to take place over the coming weeks and into the new season.

So, with the curtain drawn on the regular campaign, Owls supporters are asked to vote for their swfc.co.uk Player of the Year.

I went for J Murphy

Not one player has been good enough consistently to deserve any award

Happy clapping for 4 years more than Emre

Gave my vote to Fletcher... we'd have been down but for his goals, and he was the player whose absence was most felt.

I ask you will Galway bate Mayo? Not if they have Willie Joe...they haven't a hope of beating Mayo!

C**ts who didn't finish the season with us shouldn't be included.

Tee, any chance you could use your contacts down there to ask for the voting method to be changed for this season?
Could we vote by throwing tomatoes at our chosen candidates, the Italian method from 1966?

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

That’s why I didn’t vote Fletcher although I don’t think he’s a c**t for not staying on.

Between Iorfa & Murphy. Went for the latter in the vague hope that him winning PoTY might see him return.

I dreamt about you last night & I fell out of bed twice

I remember reading in the paper back then, back when the papers were still made of paper, that the day before the Italian team was due to arrive back in Rome, having been beaten by North Korea, you couldn't find a tomato to buy within 50km of the airport.

Fetcher, Iorfa came close, but he does have those dodgy moments some times.

How can anyone vote for a player that decided to fuck off instead of extending their contract by three games.

I went for Murphy mainly for his post lockdown efforts. Fletcher would’ve been a shoe-in other than the reasons given by almost every poster on this thread.

If he won it he wouldn't bother turning up to be presented with it. He snubbed the Wise Old Owls twice after they voted him player of the year last season.
That's how much he thinks about our supporters.

Very easily. He was IMHO the best player this season, and that's all I based giving my vote on.

If anything, given he'd got injured again immediately before his contract ran out, he saved us paying him £100,000+ to sit in the stand.

I ask you will Galway bate Mayo? Not if they have Willie Joe...they haven't a hope of beating Mayo!

I presume by that logic you would be more likely to vote for Da Cruz over Fletcher, as he did extend his stay.

My vote is based on performances for SWFC this season, not any notion of loyalty, as that doesn't exist in football, money is king.

I'll never buy from AXA again!

I don't think that's required, but if it makes you feel better go ahead - knock yourself out. Just try and spell Wednesday properly for once in your letter.

Morgan Fox 100%

Might have gone Fletcher but for him “pulling his hamstring” to avoid having to say no to playing in the post lockdown run-in.
