I saw that Birmingham will retire number 22 shirt after Jude Belingham leaving WTF. For mei t is crazy after 41 gme, It is an utimate accolade reserved for true club legends.

How do people feel about shirt numbers being retired?

If you agree with it, can you think of any suggestions at different clubs who could retire shirt numbers?

I'll never buy from AXA again!

It's pathetic, an Americanism that's not welcome here.

I don't like it but I sort of understand when there's something like the Maldini family legacy at AC Milan.

Looks pretty meaningless from here.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

I think it was either Man City or West Ham (or both?) who retired the squad number of the late Marc-Vivien Foe.

In those circumstances, I can just about understand it. However, all in all, I think it's a load of shite.

We appear to have retired a striker's shirt.

Death in service. That’s about the only reason I could think of. Selling a kid after 40 games and retiring his shirt would be ok if Worksop Town sold Messi to Barcelona but I find it a little embarrassing that a club is almost saying he’s the greatest player that will ever play for us.

Other than Trevor Francis, presumably.

Did we retire Urby Emmanuelsons shirt?

Personally think it's very poor from Birmingham.

Could begrudgingly see the merits of a one club very successful player or thd Vivien Foe example

I’d retire every number over 16.

If we'd retired him I doubt we'd have noticed.

Add to that squad numbers, names on shirts, “projects”, “marquee players”, new shirts every season and all the other long list of bullshit that has been adopted from the states.
