Football fans were allowed into a Premier League stadium for the first time in almost six months, as 2,500 watched Saturday's friendly between Brighton and Chelsea.

Seagulls supporters were able to attend the game at the Amex Stadium as part of a government trial event for the return of fans to stadiums for matches.

I so wanted Stevie May to be a success with us, his effort levels were infectious but like so many others, his first touch was often a clearance.

I said about the same yesterday. (Before I saw he was sporting a 'man-bun'.) Pinch

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

Was usually off his shin. Think he got a fair few of his assists and goals for us through goalies being deceived by his inability to strike the ball cleanly.

I ask you will Galway bate Mayo? Not if they have Willie Joe...they haven't a hope of beating Mayo!

Didn’t he score at least a couple of free kicks? - both/all with massive deflections

How many striker signings down the years have we made where the player was on their way up/ still developing and became an asset.

I'm struggling to think of many. The likes of FF, Rhodes, Fletcher, Winnall, Nuhui etc surely don't fit in that camp. The most recent one I can think of is Antonio. Then it's Hirst, but I'd listen to arguments about Flash and Williams.

Any others?

That's Interesting in that fans were allowed to sit within 2 seats of each other and no need for face coverings either.

Seems to have been a success, that bodes well.

Results of my chosen games in tonights FA cup qualifying round as follows.

Plenty of games on tonight in the FA cup qualifirers, stand out games for me are,

Camberley Town 0-0 Blackfield & Langley Camberley win 5-4 on pens. (B&L being fairly close to me).

Cowes Sports 1-0 Totton & Eling (Local derby can see it kicking off here big time again both close to me). Fucking caulkheads BigsmileBigsmile

Daisy Hill 0-2 Colne (Daisy Hill, what a nice name, wonder where that is, Daisy agro?).

Glasshoughton Welfare 1-1 Knaresborough Town Knareborough win 2-4 on pens (Knaresborough will be up for this and well pissed off with what Harrogate's gone and done).

West Bridgford 1-1 Dunkirk West Bridgford win 5-3 on pens (Dunkirk? FFS, frogs get everywhere, come on West Bridgford, wherever you are).

Skelmersdale United 3-2 Penistone Church . Penistone had bad luck after being on top first half. (that must be our Penistone isn't it?).

Thornaby 2-0 Bridlington Town (always had a soft spot for Brid, many happy memories).

There appears to be loads of games on near me, Hamble, Millbrook and Fawley just a few more but there's many others. I need to find something more constructive to do during the days.

The Millbrook I mentioned above isn't the one near me, it's down in Cornwall somewhere I think it said.

I couldn't get a bet on which was probably just as well.

Hope the Totton lads managed to get a drink on the ferry back, or did they get the fast cat?

Nottingham derby. West Bridgford is the area behind Trent Bridge. Dunkirk is the other side of the ring road.

Bridgford have just had their ground sold from underneath them, by the council, for the building of 200 houses. Council claiming its a result of Covid revenue loss and triggered a compulsory purchase clause.
The club runs 19 football teams (boys, girls, veterans, disabilities) and have spent nearly 200 grand, in the last five years, upgrading facilities and floodlights.
Local law firm has taken up the fight for free.

Fans may be allowed to attend Arsenal's home Premier League fixture against Sheffield United on 3 October.

The Gunners hope they will be able to have supporters inside Emirates Stadium on a reduced capacity basis and in line with UK government guidelines.

Initially, only gold season ticket holders and premium members will have priority access to tickets.

Football has been played behind closed doors since its return in June after the coronavirus shutdown.

On Saturday, football fans were allowed into a Premier League ground for the first time in almost six months as 2,500 people watched the friendly between Brighton and Chelsea at the Amex Stadium.

That came as part of the government's latest pilot scheme, with more to be announced in due course.

Arsenal play West Ham United on 20 September in their first home game of the new season but it will be played without fans.

The north London club said they hope "to be able to safely increase the capacity" during the 2020-21 campaign, which starts on 12 September.

Social distancing would be in place if supporters were to attend the Blades' visit to Arsenal, while there would also be other measures, including the introduction of new hygiene protocols and intensive cleansing routines.

Anyone attending the match would also have to agree to a code of conduct devised in line with the government guidelines.

Lost all this post once as I'd taken too long and it'd timed out, if I do it again I'm done. Forgive me if I get anything wrong now as I'm doing it all from memory.

Heaton Stannington v West Auckland Town (Heaton Stannington, the place where a current foreign premier league superstar made his first appearance in the UK, how did that happen I hear you all ask, his name just escapes me now though, the Stannington isn't our Stannington. There was a time when I wish our Stannington wasn't ours as well, maybe still is).

Baffins Milton Rovers v AFC Stoneham ( I'm quite close to Stoneham, I thought Milton must be New Milton in the New Forest but it's Pompey way, could get nasty, Pompey carnts).

Balham v Hassocks ( Had to have this one just for the names, Wandsworth V West Sussex).

Bottesford Town v Selston (Shires of Lincoln and Nottingham)

Carlton Town v Loughborough University (Carlton was my old WMC in Sheffield , which is inconsequential I know, and our recent hosts of course Loughborough)

Roman Glass St George v Flackwell Heath (Bristol v High Wycombe, they have a long way to travel).

Sherborne Town v Street (Daarset v Somerset where the cider apples grow).

Stansfeld v Punjab United (I thought this would be around Manchester for some reason but I was miles out, Chislehurst and Kent)

Avro v Bootle (Mancs v Bin Dippers, well near enough anyway).

Now, I must remember to cut and paste in case it tries to stitch me up again. Haven't looked for any bets as I doubt there'll be anything going on, bookies have as much idea as me I reckon.

Prof: this is how I deal with being timed out when typing long posts. If you hit this site's back button, you'll lose everything you've typed. But if you hit the overall back button on your device, it puts you back where you were before you posted: with everything you've typed, just ready to post. And this time it won't time you out.
I'm aware I haven't named the two different 'buttons' technically correctly but hopefully you'll understand what I'm on about. It works for me every time. Hope this helps.
