Wildsmith

Palmer
Flint

Penney

Harris
Dele-Bashiru
Bannan

Subs :

Windass
Rhodes

I'm hoping that the likes of Iorfa & Lees are back, that will steady the backline, especially with the experience of Flint who has been a top signjng so far..

Team if our injured lads are back....3-5-2

Wildsmith

Iorfa
Flint
Lees

Odubajo
Bannan
Brown
Dele-Bashiru
Harris

Paterson
Kachunga/Marriott

*Changed a couple round after reading Tys post re Rotherham's pace*

Subs :

Dawson
Palmer
Reach
Hunt
Pelupessy
Windass/Kachunga/Marriott
Rhodes

Monk certainly can't complain that DC hasn't backed him in the transfer market as we have a fair few players again down at S6 & we're linked with more free agents.

Garry Monk has called for strong minds and strong mentalities following setbacks at Hillsborough last week.

As Wednesday work hard to claw back the point deficit, the manager is well aware there will be blows along the way.

But with barely any time between fixtures on which to dwell, the Owls must respond and the next challenge is a South Yorkshire derby on Wednesday evening.

“We will have setbacks but we haven't got time to dwell on it,” Monk said. “We have to be much better and hopefully some margins will start to go for us.

“We had a disappointed changing room and quite rightly so but we don't have time to dwell.

“We know what is at stake for us and we are running our own race. It's a race that we constantly want to be doing well at throughout but we are going to have to take some blows along the way.”

Our meetings with neighbours Rotherham have often produced fascinating encounters, particularly away from home and with bags of stoppage time drama.

Monk will want to see his players rise to the challenge and the added derby element the fixture will bring in midweek.

“We have to make sure we come fighting back,” he continued. “It is vitally important we understand that.

“It is not an easy job for anyone; myself, the players, the staff and everyone involved at the club. We have to stick together.

“There's pressure - inward pressure, outward pressure and we are trying to find a way to deal with it. Overall, we have dealt with it pretty well.”

Beattie was hailed as a game changer when he arrived. Just the guy to get Rhodes and others up front firing on all cylinders. Not seen any evidence of that yet.

Whilst our attacking plan is "give it to Bannan" it ain't going to change

The strikers to me aren't the problem the shit house long ball tactics are

Asked a few Millers about George Hirst.
They all reckon he's too lightweight. A couple have said he gets mardy very easily on the pitch, if his runs aren't being picked up or he's not getting the ball, and this causes him to drift out. Almost stop trying. His first appearance he tried to ghost round a defender and found himself on his arse so didn't want to know.
One lad reckoned there is something there but that it also looks like Hirst can't be arsed to use it most of the time.
And two think he's not worth the money and they were expecting better

The one time I saw him come on for us, (Reading away?), we didn't pick up his runs either.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

The irony that one dimensional TV coverage will be very suited to our one dimensional style of play

Saves me a tenner as well
