Funnily enough I was never arsed about being in a union until 5 years ago. Since then they helped me twice and provided support with my employer that I probably would not have worked out by myself. In leaving the company, just the sheer presence of the union rep in the room with me ensured that I was given the enhanced redundancy deal.

Since then, I've been offered and taken fully funded training courses - One one I've undertaken is directly relevant to the industry I'm about to start a business in. I'm not a fan of some of the union leaders and the political feather beds they build themselves but my personal experience of union membership has been extremely positive.

Of course there are cracks, that's how the light gets in.

Whilst I'm happy for you, I still won't ever need one.

Gordon Taylor another example. Highest paid union leader i think.

I agree that a lot of union leaders are overpaid and in the past they were happy to enter the Lords on retirement. However there are some decent union leaders. Leaving the EU isn't going to help anyone in the workplace unless you are a boss.

Which is it please? Just for clarity.

Is the unions that have protected the working man as per the mantra or the EU?

Also, you do know that the employment law in terms of employee rights as at 31/12/2020 has been assured going forward?
