Just wanted to set a thread up for folks to rant about shit, to leave it away from the main board.

Being honest, I'm feeling quite low and demotivated at the minute. FUCKING GOD DAMN BOLLOCKS SHIT WANK.

There, that's better.

We must not give opposition teams hope. We have to kill them.

I might start tootling my car round and round a car park, stopping every now and then so our lass can put air in me tyres, might even raise my fist at a tree or summat.....that should relieve the boredom a tad...

SAGE is a major problem.
The membership of SAGE does not accurately cover all the relevant scientific aspects of combatting a pandemic. Nearly half the membership have no relevant scientific expertise in this area.
People in SAGE should not have a vested financial interest in vaccines and other aspects in the pandemic. Several have 6 figure investments.
Many of their recommendations are not substantiated by evidence, especially crucifying the hospitality industry.
SAGE has no statistician to draw relevant worst case/best case scenario. They always go mega worst scenario.
No one ever voted for SAGE yet they are effectively running the country
ALSO
There is conclusive evidence that the staff chosen to speak at various NHS hospitals at media interviews are left wing, militant activists pursuing a separate agenda.

Fuck 'em. This city will always be ours, but the club SADLY won't.

The nurse on GMB yesterday was a prime example

Really bri? That's a very sweeping statement. Every single consultant, doctor, NHS manager, nurse or GP who gives an opinion publicly are "left wing, militant activists pursuing a separate agenda"? Every single one interviewed every day by the multitude of media outlets throughout the UK? You realise how ridiculous what you're saying is?

I ask you will Galway bate Mayo? Not if they have Willie Joe...they haven't a hope of beating Mayo!

It's simply not true though is it Tommy? You've used a spike over a seven day period to make that claim. That's typical of your never ending Tory bashing. You use whatever you can find and spin it to make untrue generalisations to suit your socialist agenda...a bit like the party you support.

Oh! and nobody "loves" Boris Johnson, he's the democratically elected Prime Minister and will remain so until the populace vote otherwise.

Oxford vaccine is a world beater says Johnson. Out of all vaccines given green light Oxford vaccine is the least effective. The reason we're giving it preference is the fact it doesn't have to be stored at -70. As for being proud to be British the main scientist behind Oxford vaccine is a Russian emigree who was awarded Nobel pize for science.

As for the vaccine rollout going well. Ask them in Northern Ireland. Brother's neighbour is 88. Over 80s in NI promised jab in December. Including today she hasn't even had a letter. She, along with rest over there, has to put up with food shortages in peacetime thanks to the chaos of Trade deal.
Johnson is a lying bullshitter.

You just can't help yourself can you Tommy? Forever Brit bashing.

The Astra Zeneca jab has a 62% eficacy whearas the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines both claim 95% However, it's been found that if a half dose of the oxford jab is given followed by a full dose then the eficacy rate almost matches them. The storage conditions of the three are that the Pfizer requires specialist super freezers and will only be usable for 4/5 days after opening whearas the Moderna jab can be stored in a domestic freezer and will keep for up to a month. The oxford jab can be stored in a domestic fridge and remains usable for up to six months. The costs vary wildly with the Pfizer product costing about 5 x the oxford jab and the Moderna up to 20 x more. Crucially, the oxford jab can be produced in quantities the others can only dream about.

So, let's just suppose you've been tasked by innoculating the population of let's say...India. Which one would you choose?

Truth is you're both right, the figure Tommy used is over a 7 day period, but also at this stage, we should NEVER be in this position where we have the worst death rate in the world. 1600 people announced dead from it today is an absolutely avoidable and infinitely sad statistic. The Government has made huge mistakes which have led directly to where we are now and there is no way of denying that and retaining credibility.

That said, with the vaccine roll out and the use of the NHS to deliver it (and accepting there are some issues in places) I think they're doing quite well in getting 1st vaccinations done. The key is whether they can get the second jabs done in time, if they do - it will be a job well done.

Of course there are cracks, that's how the light gets in.

Bradders, it may be an unpalatable truth to you, but it isn't the government that is spreading the virus. It's irresponsible people who don't give a fuck about who they infect or if they die. People who don't think the lockdown rules apply to them...who continue to socialise safe in the knowledge that they are young and fit and if they get it they will recover quickly and completely.
