Has appeared... And it's from a radio Sheffield journo.

Sheffield United recorded a profit of £17.7m in their first season back in the Premier League.

Just over £110m has been spent on players this season and last, though the clubs wage bill (£77.9m) is likely to be the lowest in the PL for 2019/20.

United purchased assets such as the stadium, training ground and hotel from Kevin McCabe's Scarborough Group.

However, a significant loan was taken out to do this.

Blades Leisure (SUFC's parent company) owes £24.7m to Emirates NBD Bank. Repayments appear to be £1.2m annually.

United ended 2019/20 owing £16m in 'other taxation and social security'. Explained by the payment holiday granted by the Chancellor at the time.

May also explain subsequent loans of unknown amounts from another bank, Macquire, secured against the club’s future broadcast income.

The Blades say the long term strategy is “to be a self-sustaining, globally recognised Club competing in the top tier of English football.”

There does not appear to be an appetite to risk the future of the club to achieve that.

Hilarious, it might as well be DC saying that, i.e. they are a million miles away and we are 2 million miles away.

As Reesh says as well where are these figures coming from?

It seems to confirm that the prince has still put no money in since he acquired full control, that’s right isn’t it?

Just posted in managerial thread that Poundland looks like appointing a coach that's used to having no money and playing academy kids.

Alexander Blessin. Ex RB Leipzig youth coach and currently managing Ostend
