Owls Unveil Luhukay

Owls Unveil Luhukay

So what do we know about it? He’s 54, Dutch, and has spent the majority of his career managing in the German 2nd division. Oh, and he’s got a pretty substantial mustache!

Managing primarily in the 2. Bundesliga, he hosts an impressive record of promotion and cup wins.

Upon taking the Wednesday hot seat, this is what he had to say to the official site. “Sheffield Wednesday is exactly the exciting challenge for which I have been waiting. We shall now work together with all the staff at the club and the fans, to stabilise the team, and following that, improve it step by step with discipline, effort, commitment and creativity to take it up.”

Luhukay watched from the stands as Wednesday drew 0-0 with League 2 side Carlisle, with his first day on the job being Monday. He oversaw a training on the hallowed Hillsborough turf before being on press duties for the rest of the day.

Now he turns his attention to his first game in charge, against that lot from the wrong side of Sheffield. Here’s what he had to say about it. “At this moment we look only to the next game on Friday.

“You must always keep an eye in more directions and we will try to do what’s best for the club. But Friday is a highlight day. Derbies in every country are highlight days. There will be emotion, atmosphere, passion, a special feeling and these things will bring extra motivation for us to play good football.”

Everyone at OwlsOnline welcomes and wishes luck to Jos, especially this Friday night.
