Kieran Lee Extends Deal With The Owls

It has been announced this morning by Wednesday boss, Garry Monk, that Kieran Lee has agreed to extend his contract to ensure that he will finish the season at the very least in the Blue and White of Wednesday.

The experienced midfielder is the first to be named to have extended a deal to the end of the current season out of a crop of player's whose deals current deals come to an end in a couple of weeks' time, with Monk also stating that the remainder of the players in the ‘training squad’ all being in talks to see out 19/20 with The Owls.

With the news that Steven Fletcher being back in training this week and the likes of Fernando Forestieri and Morgan Fox also training then it will help allay some fears that the players will simply walk away in a couple of weeks’ time. However, whilst the news of talks is positive, Monk was clear that is nothing has been officially agreed with those other players yet, but the Wednesday manager seemed hopeful it would be sorted out before the 30th June.

Wednesday of course get the 19/20 season back underway this weekend against Nottingham Forest behind closed doors at Hillsborough. Come and join in the chat ahead of the game and of course, the news about the short term extension to the deal to keep Kieran Lee at the club. Visit the forum - HERE
