Dunkley Decides To Join The Wednesday

Wednesday have this evening confirmed the capture of defender, Chey Dunkley.

The 28-year-old centre back signs for Wednesday on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract with Wigan Athletic.

Chey who cites Kidderminster, Hednesford, Crewe Alexandra, Oxford United and Wigan joins The Owls after choosing to come to South Yorkshire despite interest from other Championship clubs including Bristol City.

Chey made over 25 appearances for Wigan last term before a broken leg brought his campaign to an early end, but he is fully over the injury and is set to step straight into training with Wednesday this week.

His signing bolsters Garry Monk’s options at centre back further, with Tom Lees, Julian Borner, Dominic Iorfa and Joost Van Aken all in competition with the latest addition to the squad.

Welcome to Wednesday, Chey.

Come and give us your thoughts on the signing of Chey, and tell us, who else would you like us to strengthen or what other positions would you like Wednesday to add to the squad?

Come and do that on the forum by clicking HERE
