A late 60's album track, well crafted and multi-layered ....non of your endlessly repeated riffs then.

To quote Chuck Berry, this fella could "play a guitar just like ringing a bell"

The word "masterpiece" is over used in the art world, but Giacomo Puccini's "Tosca" is IMO truly a masterpiece. He wrote some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard and this opera is awash with great songs. As a bonus, Angela Gheorghiu is my favourite MILFEvil

A singalong, jam session of an old country standard.....you can hear the fun they had recording this song.

This wasn't considered good enough to be an "A" side so they put it on the back of Help. Doh! Rolleyes

Some of you will remember the Limit club on West Street......Kevan Johnson told me this was the song that inspired the name.

Another song from "Tosca" .....He is really too old and too fat for the part........but there aren't any twentysomething singers about with a mature tenor voice like Domingo.

This song has been recorded by such diverse people as Joe Cocker, Aerosmith and ErmSusan Boyle. But this 1955 original is still the yardstick by which to judge this ubber cool jazz/blues offering.

And hats off to any lyricist who can rhyme plebeian with "me an"Thumbsup

Excerpt from Wikipedia;
Their first out of town show was at a working mans club in Sheffield. Since the crowd was mainly made up of Teddy Boys and hard drinking workers, the band were paid off after three songs. Despondent, they literally walked into the Mod-orientated King Mojo Club nearby (then owned by a young Peter Stringfellow) and offered to perform for free. They played a set that had the local Mods wanting more and started a strong buzz.

This song still gives me a "strong buzz"

BTW....this would have been 1965/6 ish so Teddy Boys were long gone. They probably mean Rockers.
