'Sow'ing The Seeds

The doors of Hillsborough opened once again today as Wednesday welcomed another signing to strengthen the squad further.

25-year-old Dutch forward, Sylla Sow, joins the club on a permanent deal subject to international clearance. Sylla had been mooted to be joining the Owls by the Sheffield Star recently and it turns out they were right.

Sylla signs as a free agent after leaving RKC Waalwijk towards the back end of the last Eredivisie campaign following two years with the club who hail from the Mandemakers Stadion where he made almost a half century of appearances, scoring 7 goals in the Dutch top flight.

Prior to his stint with RKC, Sylla was with FC Utrecht, where he won the U21 equivalent of the Eredivisie. He was first on the bench for the first team squad in their Europa League game against Lech Poznan in 2017, before being an unused sub in the Eredivisie at home to Excelsior, before making his debut against Heracles, coming on as a second half substitute coming on for the enigma that is Urby Emanuelson.. Remember him?!

Anyway, that’s enough of him… Welcome to The Owls, Sylla.
