Darren Moore Is The New Wednesday Gaffer

Wednesday have this morning announced that Darren Moore is the new manager at the club.

The now former Doncaster Rovers manager has moved across South Yorkshire to link up with The Owls who will be his third club in management following spells with West Brom and his previous club.

The 46-year-old comes into the club with Wednesday ensconced in a battle for survival in the Championship and he has experience of a battle against the drop when he was manager of the Baggies back in late 2018. Although, close to keeping them in the top flight he couldn’t quite manage it but certainly ruffled feathers and was well on the way to taking the club from the Hawthorns back to the Premier League at the first attempt but, surprisingly, he was out of a job with the side in 4th in the Championship.

Moore returned to management when he returned to Doncaster Rovers, a club who he had featured for as a player amongst his 8 former clubs. In fact, the Birmingham born, Jamaican international had three spells in Yorkshire as a player. One in West Yorkshire with Bradford, as well two spells in South Yorkshire, the latter most being with Barnsley a club which he featured for over 75 times.

The now Wednesday manager leaves his previous job with Rovers in the playoff hunt for promotion to the Championship, but now, it’s Championship survival on his mind.
Welcome to The Owls, gaffer.
