PL clubs have found another PSR loophole using academy players

Recommended Posts

This weekend a few PL Clubs will play swapsies with academy players in order to try and fend off possible PSR fines.

Chelsea and Villa seem to be the main two culprits, swapping relevant players for vastly inflated prices. The incoming fee is registered in full on this year's accounts but the money spent is split over the length of contract. As academy players are seen as 'pure profit' it's a win win and Chelsea and Villa will see a considerable legitimate cash injection this weekend.
